Plumbing Estimating Software for Plumbing Contractors
Plumbing jobs are priced by fixture and by phase, and the rough-in, top-out and trim-out often happen weeks apart. Trades HQ keeps each phase on one job and helps you bill as you go.
Fixture counts drive the job. Every toilet, sink, tub and hose bib adds pipe, fittings and labor.
Work happens in phases. Rough-in, top-out and trim-out are often weeks apart, so billing needs to follow the work.
Fittings and small parts. Valves, stubs, hangers and fittings are easy to undercount.
Permits and inspections. Each inspection can mean another trip.

Pricing tip: Plan when you'll bill each phase before you start, so cash comes in as the work does. And remember that markup and margin aren't the same number: a 20% margin needs a 25% markup. The Estimating Basics guide walks through the math, and the free markup and margin calculator does it for you.

Questions plumbing contractors ask
How do plumbers bill for jobs done in phases?
Many plumbers take a deposit, then bill as each phase is finished, such as rough-in, top-out and trim-out. Trades HQ supports deposits and progress billing on the same job, so you can bill each phase without starting a new invoice from scratch.
Can I add work the customer asks for after the estimate?
Yes. Add a change order for the extra work. Once it is approved, it is included when you bill.
Does it work with QuickBooks?
Trades HQ exports your invoices in a format ready to import into QuickBooks, so your bookkeeper doesn’t have to retype them.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, and you don’t need a credit card to start. Plans start at $75 a month, and you can cancel anytime.
